Tips:  The pilgrimage is one of the best buys for the European traveler.  Food prices and
lodging are reasonable. Lodging ranges from free to $50 or $60 US dollars.  Two and
three star hotels are at the upper range.  Smaller towns and villages have better rates than
the cities of Leon, Burgos, Pamplona.  Meals are substantial, often more than you can eat.
Small markets are frequent along the route.  There you can buy cheese, bread, cold cuts,
canned white asparagus, fresh produce and fruit.  All the staples you need for superior
pilgrim meals.  A small collapsible cooler will protect your perishables and film from summer
heat.
