Sweet cicely, wild anise Osmorhiza claytonii (Michx) Clarke.  Looks a bit like poison hemlock so be careful.  Pick this one with a successful forager.  Root is fragrant, as is the stem when broken.  Native Americans gargled root tea was for sore throats, painful teeth. Plant in spring before blooming.  Root as anise like odor.  Be certain to know the  difference between this plant and poison hemlock.
