Sweet cicely, wild anise Osmorhiza claytonii (Michx) Clarke.  Looks a bit like poison hemlock so be careful.  Pick this one with a successful forager.  Root is fragrant, as is the stem when broken.  Native Americans gargled root tea was for sore throats, painful teeth. (More)
