Traditional "Big House" near Sointula, Island, British Columbia, Canada.  Major gift giving ceremonies (Potlatch) were held here.  A way for the rich and benevolent "Chief" to keep in good stead with his people and neighbors.  Often everything owned was given away.  Made with native wood: Douglas fir, Cedar, Sitka spruce, Western hemlock.            (Traditional Technology)
