Rue, Garden Rue, Ruta graveolens L. (Rutaceae) plus lemon grass and other herbs spread across the floor of the market in Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic.  

Used in Mexico to treat the stomach, bowels, liver and to promote a regular menstruation.

Native American Uses:  Considered antihelmintic when boiled as an elixir in syrup and consumed (Cherokee).  Fresh end growth stuck in ear to treat earache.  Alcohol (corn whisky) tincture used to treat palsy and hysterics.  As in mexico Diegueno used infusion of plant to treat stomach disorders.
