Buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup, redbud blossoms and garnished by edible pansies.  (Edible flower tips)

Candied pansies are great.  Supersaturate two tablespoons of Everclear alcohol with sugar, whip in a tablespoon of egg white and then paint the pansies.  See Edible Flowers video.  

Red bud pods are edible.  Dip them in tempura and fry.  Also, make a saturated sugar water mixture, about a quarter cup, then flavor it with crushed anise hyssop flowers (or leaves).  Dip red bud pods in water and coat, then bake at 350 degrees until crisp.
