until root is exhausted. New shoots are boiled in two changes of water
before sauteing for the table.
Below are poke berries (toxic). New shoots are considered toxic when the stems start to turn purple.
|One therapy I heard of is taking one berry to start a cleansing process, then take one additional berry each day for twenty or twenty one days (twenty one berries on the last day). I'm not interested. Too risky. Might end up with 21 days of diarrhea? Fruit juice fast more to my liking.|
