Pennyroyal, Mentha pulegium L.
Pennyroyal tea has low toxicity but pennyroyal oil is toxic to the
liver. Pulegone a chemical in pennyroyal destroys the
important antioxidant glutathione.
I use pennyroyal in the garden and home as an insect repellent and insecticide. (More) |
