Bracted Lousewort (wood betony), Family: Scrophulariaceae. Pedicularis bracteosa Benth., near Crystal Mountain Ski area, Washington. Finely divided fernlike leaves, double toothed and stalkless. Flowers yellowish to red or purple, hooded upper lip, numerous in dense, elongate terminal cluster. Found in moist open forest, alpine meadows, thickets. Betony is Gallic word for medicinal plant.
