Longevity and the Circles of Good Health.

                   Circles:

1. Healthy diet.  Follow the suggestions on this CD, eat right, avoid health destroying foods, take a daily supplement.

2. Daily exercise.  Exercise daily.  A two mile walk per day will cut death by all causes by 50%.

3.  Genetics (see luck).  Perhaps you can't change the hand you have been dealt, but understanding your inherited and learned strengths and weaknesses may prolong your life.

4. Friends. Lonely, isolated people do not live as long.  Join organizations, get involved, work with people, make friends.

5.  Luck.  Make your own luck:  wear a seat belt, don't smoke, drive defensively, don't drink and drive, calculate your risk, avoid dangerous situations, make your home accident proof.  Throw rugs trip, falls break hips, ribs...At an advanced age accidents and illnesses may be catastrophic.

6.  Spiritual self. Get a religion.  Something you can believe in.  Invent it is you have to.  But have a place, a thing, a spirit (and that may be you, or something within you to talk to, to seek strength and meaning.

7.  Goal setting.  Take a break and get lost in the depths of your mind.  Discover things undone, and then set about accomplishing them.

8. Rest and recreation.  Take up activities that help you relax, reflect and recover...Get out of your routine, travel (near or far doesn't matter) just get somewhere different.  Here is where your goals will become clear.
