| SPANISH MEDICINE: Hops; Lupulo: Spanish; llupol: Catalan; aien: Basque. The flowers are used in infusion as a sedative and digestive. The drink is considered calming to jittered nerves. Also used to stimulate the secretion of digestive juices and to hasten peristalsis. The tea is also used to reduce fevers from acute infections. As a sleep aid one cup of the infusion (about 1 teaspoon of dried flowers to six ounce cup of hot water). | ![]() |
