Fiddle heads of various species of ferns are eaten
across the United States. This is Ostrich fern, Pteretis
pensylvanica. Rough off the hair and steam, par boil, or
saute.
CAUTION: Bracken fern is inedible as are other ferns. Have a knowledgeable forager help you with your first fern eating adventure. |
