Floripondio,. Datura candida,.  This plant may grow to 18 feet and flowers may be over 12 inches long.   One recipe for cuts, wounds and abscesses requires ten grams of flowers to be infused in 1/2 liter of water.  Wash the wound with the infusion then apply fresh, par boiled leaves of the plant over the wound.  To treat rabies (hydrophobia) the whole plant is infused, root, stem, leaves, flowers then used as a compress over wound.  For treating insomnia fresh flowers are placed in a pillow case and slept on.  Also, used to treat asthma, hemorraging and headache.  Psychoactive compounds see Datura species.   Back to Mexican Medicine.
