Native American Medicine: Little documentation.  One source quotes Iroquois used this whole plant drug in combination with milk to sedate pigs.

Traditional Preparation:  Whole dried aerial parts crushed infused or decocted 2-4 grams of herb in a liter of water, drink 3 cups per day at equal intervals.

Greater Celandine, Chelidonium majus (L.), Family: Papaveraceae.

Medicine:  Whole plant used in infusion to treat constipation, inflammation, improve bile flow.  also, may stimulate circulatory system and reproductive organs (uterine stimulant).   Indicated for the liver to improve bile flow, a liver stimulant targeted at jaundice, hepatitis, gout and inflammation of bile ducts.  Appetite stimulant, bitters.

May be helpful for arthritis, rheumatism, fever reduction, Respiratory aid to treat bronchitis, coughs.  Internally for ulcers.  Externally used as a dermatological aid for psoriasis, warts, ringworm, sores, eye inflammations.

Caution:  May cause restlessness, sleeplessness, impaired breathing, skin irritant.  Use only under consultation with a licensed holistic healthcare practitioner.  There are no placebo controlled double blind studies to prove efficacy of drug.  All evidence is anecdotal.
