White sage, Salvia apiana Jeps., Lamiaceae.   A shrubby plant to 6 feet,  dense whorls of leaves, opposite, rounded teeth along margins,  leaves opposite,  pale lavender flower, variable to white to 3/4 of an inch, sometimes smaller, long stamens extend from flower, indicative.   Blooms April through June.  For the gardener this is an attractive aromatic plant that brings on the bees.
