Weather worn Coastal Sage brush, Artemisia californica  Less...Asteraceae.

Aromatic plant of coastal mountains, estuaries, and the Pacific coastal areas.  Up to 5 feet tall, many branched, gray green leaves, once or twice parted, small greenish disk florets.

A pleasant herb to run your hand over, aromatic, uplifting.

Called Romerillo by the Spanish, a tea from the leaves was considered a panacea, used as a wash for wounds and swellings, tea for relieving bronchial spasms,  branches and leaves used as a vermifuge, especially to drive away fleas.

Coastal sage found near Huntington Beach south of Los Angeles.
