Basil has to be replanted in my garden every spring, one of the few annuals I tolerate.  We have over 150 edible and medicinal perennials in the garden....Basil is worth the trouble.  We eat the leaves in salads, pizza, pasta, use it in all sauces, pesto. Try it in tea.  The flowers are distinctive on a pizza or over pasta. (more)
Basil tea is antiseptic.  Simply grab a fistful of basil leaves and flowers, stuff them in a tea pot and pour over the hot water, just off the boil.
