Note:  We chose Paris for our point of embarkation because flights from the
United States to Paris are substantially cheaper than flights from America to Madrid. 
With the savings we splurged on the high speed train ride to Bordeaux.  While in
Paris we did the usual and unusual...Make certain you see the Louvre, Versailles and
Fontainebleau (about 30 minutes by train southeast of Paris).
